Fire Commissioner Vacancy – Subdistrict 4 

The Kuna Rural Fire District is seeking to fill a vacancy on its Board of Fire Commissioners for Subdistrict 4. 

About the Role of a Fire Commissioner
Fire Commissioners are elected officials who provide governance, oversight, and strategic direction for the fire district. They are responsible for setting policy, approving the annual budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and guiding long-term planning to ensure high-quality emergency services for the community. Commissioners work in partnership with the Fire Chief and district leadership to support effective fire protection, EMS, and public safety operations. 

Appointment Details
This vacancy will be filled by appointment of the current Board of Commissioners on August 13, 2025. The term of the appointed Commissioner for Subdistrict No. 4 will expire on the date of the first Board of Commissioners’ meeting in January of 2026. A public election will be held in November 2025, during which voters will elect a commissioner to represent Subdistrict 4. The elected official will begin a new four-year term in January 2026.
